CANADA UNDER PRESSURE FESTIVAL – Montreal
Fondé à Montréal en 1996 par les graffeurs Seaz et Flow, Under Pressure est le plus ancien festival de cultures urbaines au monde. Sa mission principale est d’encourager l’implication de la communauté par le biais de la culture urbaine, contribuant ainsi au développement et au rayonnement des arts urbains à l’échelle locale et internationale.
Entièrement géré par une équipe de bénévoles dévoués à la culture hip hop, le festival est depuis ses débuts à l’image des fêtes de quartier de New York à partir des années 70. Les organisateurs, artistes de rue, graffeurs, djs, mcs et danseurs urbains se réunissent chaque année depuis 22 ans et participent volontairement à cet événement pour le pur amour de la culture hip hop. C’était une petite participation qui était intéressante pour connaître une équipe vraiment sympa et parfaite.
Founded in Montreal in 1996 by graffiti writers Seaz and Flow, Under Pressure is the oldest festival of urban cultures still active in the world. Its principal mission is to encourage the implication of the community through urban culture, and thus contributing to the development and radiance of urban arts to a local and international scale.
Entirely managed by a team of volunteers devoted to the Hip Hop culture, the Festival is since its beginnings in the image of New York City block parties from the 70s. The organizers, street artists, graffiti writers, djs, mcs and urban dancers have been getting together each year for the past 22 years and participating voluntarily to the event for the pure love of Hip Hop culture. It was a little participation which was interesting to know really nice and perfect team!
